For all of you who love the Gallagher Girls series, February 9th can't come soon enough. Because that's the day Ally Carter is releasing her new book called Heist Society.
Katarina Bishop, more commonly called Kat, comes from a family of thieves. When she's fifteen, Kat cons her way into the best boarding school in the country to escape the life of crime, yet an old friend, Hale, soon comes and tells her that her dad is suspected to have stolen the art collection of a mobster. To save her dad, Kat must find the paintings, and return them to their owner. In addition to the fact that the task is nearly impossible, Kat has only two weeks. Luckily, she has the help of a group of highly trained teen thieves.
This book will be almost entirely different from the Gallagher Girls series. For one thing, the main characters are mostly boys. There will be two girls in the entire teen group: Kat, herself, and Gabrielle. The rest are boys. As opposed to the Gallagher Girls series, where boys are a rarity. Additionally, the main characters in this story are...well, bad. They are thieves. From previous Ally Carter novels, we have always seen the best of the best. Spies devoted to making the world a better place. One other major aspect that differs between Gallagher Girls and Heist Society, is setting. The Gallagher Girls are confined to their boarding school - sometimes they travel outside to the small town of Roseville or maybe to D.C., but that's a rare occasion. In the third story, the girls venture out into the world more, but in the first two books, they rarely leave the school. The characters in Heist Society travel all over Europe.
But, there are a few things common between the two. The main characters are both missing a parent. Kat has a dad, an uncle Eddie, a cousin, Gabrielle, and a group of close friends. Her mom died when she was six. Cammie's dad is missing, but she has her mom, and the Gallagher Girls. The super-skilled main characters, the dangerous, fast-paced plot, and the totally awesome cover.
